Notes on Foxfire
The place
Foxfire is a roughly hundred-year-old inn in Mount Tremper, restored with a bohemian, well-traveled feel: stone fireplaces, Moroccan tile, vintage furniture. There are about a dozen rooms in the inn plus a cottage, and the ten acres around it hold a pond, a lily pool, fire pits and lawn games, with receptions often under a tent on the grounds.
Filming here
The woods around the property keep things shaded on bright days, which is kind to faces and to the camera. After dark, the fire pits and string lights do a lot of the work. Receptions under a tent get a direct feed from the DJ or band so the toasts come through clean.
What to expect
Foxfire weddings are usually small and spread across a weekend, so the day moves at an easy pace. I plan quiet moments into the timeline, because that's where the best parts of a film come from.

How long until we get the films?
Eight weeks for the feature and highlight films.
Which package fits a Foxfire weekend?
The Highlight works for an intimate day. If friends are staying the whole weekend, The Feature with welcome-party coverage captures more of it.
How do you handle the audio?
Every voice that matters gets its own microphone: a lav on whoever is saying vows, a recorder on the officiant, a feed from the DJ or band for the toasts. It's the reason the films sound the way they do.
Can we have the raw footage?
Yes, as an add-on, delivered on a drive after the edit is finished.
How do we hold a date?
A signed agreement and a retainer hold your date. Dates are first come, first served.
Do you work with our planner and photographer?
Always. I share the timeline ahead of the day and stay out of the photographer's frame.
Is travel included?
Yes. Foxfire is about 30 minutes from Kingston.
Is Foxfire good for a small wedding film?
Very. Smaller guest counts mean more time with each of you and the people closest to you, which is what these films are built on.
