The place
The Garrison sits on about 300 acres of golf course and woods in the Hudson Highlands, looking out over the Hudson River toward the mountains, the same kind of view the Hudson River School painters made famous. There's a restaurant, Valley, several indoor event spaces, a small inn upstairs and room for up to about 200 guests. Ceremonies can happen outdoors with the river behind you.
Filming here
The view is the whole reason people pick this place, so I build the ceremony and portraits around it. The main building is set far back from the road, which means outdoor audio is clean and quiet. Inside, the rooms are large and bright, and toasts come straight from the DJ or band.
What to expect
The Garrison has its own coordinators, and the day runs smoothly between the lawn and the ballroom. I plan the timeline with them so we catch the late light over the river.

How long until we get the films?
Eight weeks for the feature and highlight films.
Which package fits a Garrison wedding?
A full day here moves between the lawn and the ballroom, so The Feature, with two filmmakers, is the usual fit.
How do you handle the audio?
Every voice that matters gets its own microphone: a lav on whoever is saying vows, a recorder on the officiant, a feed from the DJ or band for the toasts. It's the reason the films sound the way they do.
Can we have the raw footage?
Yes, as an add-on, delivered on a drive after the edit is finished.
How do we hold a date?
A signed agreement and a retainer hold your date. Dates are first come, first served.
Do you work with our planner and photographer?
Always. I share the timeline ahead of the day and stay out of the photographer's frame.
Is travel included?
The Garrison is in the Hudson Valley, about an hour and 15 minutes from Kingston, and travel is included.
